Terms

Plain terms, plainly put.

How working together works. No fine-print surprises, just the basics, stated clearly.

The work

Studio Colophon designs and builds custom websites for small businesses. Every project is defined by the written quote or proposal you approve before any work begins, which sets the scope, the timeline, and the price. Where these terms and a signed quote differ, the quote governs.

Payment

Each project is quoted to scope, and its payment schedule is set in that quote. Care Plans are billed monthly and may be cancelled at any time, effective at the end of the billing month.

What you own

When your project is paid in full, it is yours. The domain, the code, the content, and the accounts are registered in your name and handed over with the keys. You are free to keep the site, move it, or pass it to another developer. Until final payment, the work remains the property of Studio Colophon.

Warranty and revisions

Every build comes with a thirty-day written warranty: anything not working as agreed will be corrected at no charge. Revisions within the agreed scope are included; work beyond it is quoted separately before it begins.

Third-party services

Your site may rely on third-party services such as hosting, business email, analytics, or payment processing. Those providers carry their own terms, and wherever possible I set them up in accounts that belong to you.

Liability

I take real care with every project, but to the fullest extent the law allows, Studio Colophon is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from the use of a website. Any liability is limited to the amount paid for the project in question.

These terms

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, and may be updated from time to time; the current version always lives on this page.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, write to info@studiocolophon.com before we begin, and I will walk you through it.
